I took a trip to Ikea today and found myself some excellent little lacquered boxes which I thought would be perfect for storing makeup! Who doesn’t like awesome storage?! A collector of everything like myself, really needs nice storage… And ta-da! They are perfect!
Now as I mentioned previously, I am an amateur makeup up lover and no where near a photographer so excuse the bad photos below but I wanted to give you a sneak peak at the boxes and how I arranged them. I don’t actually even own a camera at the moment (I know I know, with all the fancy blogs out there that’s almost like sacrilege) so I took some happy snaps with my phone because I’m just nuts :). I will be borrowing a camera for some other posts I have in mind, but for the moment this will have to do. The boxes are a perfect size and I unfortunately only bought two. They also had some larger ones, but they were MUCH larger so these seemed more practical for a small space (and I live in a very small space). I’m wishing I had bought some more actually, so that means another shopping trip is in order soon! I also bought two tall drinking glasses in a stained olive-ish green colour for holding brushes and other bits and pieces. The box below holds the makeup and brushes that I use most often.
A smaller glass (like a small tea cup) would have also been perfect for holding glosses and concealer tubes (somewhere in front of the tall glasses) so that they aren’t just lying down covering one another, but alas I didn’t (not yet anyways).
The pictures of the second box now houses a collection of lips products and some random nail products.
I won’t be showing you where I keep these in my bedroom as it is tiny and not all that great (currently I have a mirror sitting stacked upon a pile of really old books and I do my makeup while sitting on the floor- fancy I know) as they are resting on the floor. But one day people, I will have a gorgeous desk with all my trinkets on display and my favourite makeup sitting proudly on top!
Oh and these boxes were only $4.99 each (in Aus monies).
I’d love it if we kept in touch, so join me on Facebook!
What do you use for storage?
